In this session geared toward teaching early elementary learners, we'll begin with a discussion of the cognitive profile to understand why learning math may be difficult for our children with Down syndrome. Then we'll explore teaching adaptations to access the math curriculum, covering pre-number and early number concepts, and simple addition and subtraction. By sharing instructional strategies, resources and activities, this session will help participants work more effectively at home and school to improve learning outcomes.
